Handy Hubby

We have been wanting to build Stone a kitchen tower after he fell of a chair several days in a row.  He likes to help me feed Rowan and see what I am doing as I cook, so Doug researched and found plans online, bought the supplies, and got to work. Stone had to help Daddy as he worked.  Doug was wearing his head lamp, because the lighting in our garage is horrible, so Stone had to put one on as well.

I am so impressed with his work and now all we have to do is paint the tower.  Thanks honey for building this for the kids.  I can't wait to see them use it for years to come.

This Sweet Girl...

Said "Mama"!!!  I was over at a friend's house the other day, and while Stone played with her 2 sweet girls, which we love, my friend and I were chatting.  She was holding Rowan who was becoming sleepy and a little fussy.  She started to fuss more, looked straight at me and said, "Mama."  My heart melted.  I will pretend that she was really talking to me and saying my name, although I am sure she was just putting some sounds together that I constantly say to her.  For now, that word was priceless to me.

Cause and Effect

This is what happens when you play all morning, refuse to take a nap and instead sing "Twinkle, Twinkle" in bed, and then play at the park in the afternoon.

As I was feeding Rowan dinner, I realized I hadn't heard any noise from Stone in a while.  When I went to check on him this is what I found.  Poor guy was so tired that he fell asleep on the couch.  It was definitely early to bed tonight.

Christmas 2010

We had a blast this year, since Stone is getting old enough to understand what Christmas is all about.

We enjoyed opening presents with Doug's family on Christmas eve morning.  They all came over and we had brunch and hung around.  I must have been playing hostess, because I don't have many pictures.  Then we headed to our church's Christmas eve service.  I love this service every year, and I love even more that our church doesn't have a typical Christmas eve service.  We headed home to make chili and eat tamales.  I love eating Mexican food on Christmas eve, well anytime really, but especially on Christmas eve.

Stone woke up around 8:30, and we headed out to see what was waiting under the tree...Well once of the presents was waiting at the kitchen table.  I made (with my mom's help) a felt playhouse for the kids.  I got the idea of this blog.  I didn't quite realize the undertaking that this would be, and it did entail an all-nighter, which I haven't done since college.  I had already started working on the project a few weeks back, and then time got away from me.  We finished it on Christmas eve morning at 5:30, after sewing all night!!!   Thanks mom for the memory we made.  I promise to not procrastinate in the future.  It turned out wonderfully, and it has been on our kitchen table ever since.  I still have a few embellishments to add, but that won't take nearly as long.  I will have to take more pictures and add them.

Here are a few pictures of my sweet loves.

After naps, we headed out to the Tigert's to eat a yummy dinner and enjoy extended family.  It was a great day, and we look forward to next year!
