Stone woke up feeling a little under the weather on Sunday, but he didn't let it stop him from having fun. We had orange rolls for breakfast, and hung out around the house. Once he woke up from his nap, we carved a pumpkin. (Or as he said "pumpkin car") He want to touch the insides, but he would put it nose near the hole we cut and say "mmm...that smells good." I love the smell of a pumpkin, too (just one of my many childhood memories).
Stone wanted to draw on the pumpkin. The Sharpie made me a little nervous, so we eventually went inside and pulled out his markers for him to color. Stone loves the jack-o-lantern. We put it out on the front porch for Halloween, and now it is sitting on his little table. He had it next to him last night at the dinner table, and we were talking about the pumpkins eyes to see and nose to smell. All of the sudden he turns the pumpkin toward his food, breathes in through his nose, and says that food smells good. He is doing and saying lots of things lately that just make me laugh. I love the way he thinks.
We ate a pumpkin shaped pizza, and then Stone put on his puppy dog costume. Nonnie made the costume for us with a fleece hoodie and some fabric. It turned out precious! He loves wearing it. My thought was that he could wear the hoodie this winter, but he loves the costume so much it may just be for play.
After going to a few houses for candy, we headed back home and let Stone pass out the candy. He really enjoys doing this. He is always super cautious when kids with masks come up, but otherwise he loves running around the front yard until it is time to do his job.
Rowan was fast asleep by 7, so we didn't get any pictures of her in her Halloween tutu. Can't wait for next year, when we have 2 little costumed kiddos.
